I was approached by Thais Lazzeri from FALA Agency to develop a series of bespoke digital collages for InfoAmazonia — a Brazilian media outlet focused on data-driven environmental journalism and coverage of the Amazon region. The project, titled Amazonas: Mentira Tem Preço (Amazon: Lies Have a Price), was an investigative series uncovering the spread of socio-environmental disinformation on digital platforms in Brazil, and the political and economic interests behind the misinformation industry.
An initial lead collage had been created by the brand’s art director to set the visual direction for the whole project. Based on this reference, I was commissioned to create a number of unique digital collages — one for each article in the series — ensuring visual consistency across the platform while tailoring each piece to reflect the specific narrative and key themes of the individual articles.
The Results
Repercussion
The collages gained strong visibility in the Brazilian media, being featured across multiple platforms to illustrate articles related to the project Amazonas: Mentira Tem Preço (Amazon: Lies Have a Price).
It was incredibly rewarding to see my work published in such respected outlets, including Carta Capital, Folha de S.Paulo, Revista Cenarium, UOL, among others. Seeing the illustrations reach such wide circulation and spark meaningful conversations was a real highlight of the project.
